The Water Institute of the Gulf
Kelin Hu, Ph.D., is a Research Scientist for The Water Institute of the Gulf. He has more than 15 years of experience modeling storm surge, hurricane waves, sediment transport and morphological changes in coastal and estuarine areas. Dr. Hu received his Ph.D. in Physical Geography from East China Normal University in Shanghai, China. Most recently, Dr. Hu worked as an IT consultant and research scientist with the Center for Computation & Technology at Louisiana State University. He was responsible for the development and application of coastal models using advanced numerical methods and massively parallel high performance computing technologies.
