Consultant & Researcher Coastal Engineering
Freek Scheel is a coastal engineer (MSc) at Deltares, involved in coastal development studies around the world, who acts as both a specialized technical consultant/researcher, as well as a project manager/coordinator. He has particular experience with studies focusing on detailed numerical modelling of coastal morphodynamics, such as port siltation, coastline dynamics, impact studies and fine sediment dynamics.
In his current position as both a researcher and consultant in coastal engineering at Deltares, Freek is also involved in coastal engineering R&D. In his role as coordinator, he focuses on the development of uncertainty quantification methods and interactive rapid-assessment tools, in a multi-party setting. Freek also enjoys being involved in education, and does so through international courses, lectures and M.Sc. students.
