Zhifei Dong, Ph.D is currently a coastal engineer with specialization in the numerical modeling of coastal processes in APTIM. He received the Ph.D degree in Ocean Engineering from Center for Applied Coastal Research (CACR), University of Delaware. His dissertation focused on the theoretical and numerical study of wave-current interaction in strongly sheared mean flows.
His experience includes the Florida inlet management study, modeling of Louisiana barrier island migration (part of 2017 LA master plan), computation of nearshore hydrodynamics, coastal structure designs, JALBTCX Lidar data toolkit development, Regional Sediment Management (RSM) dredging data analysis, coastal resiliency and EPA sea level rise and water supply adaptation study.
