David Taylor (BE, MEng, CPEng) is a Principal with Baird and has over 15-years’ international experience in managing technically complex projects across a range of engineering and applied science disciplines. Mr Taylor has been Principal Engineer and/or Project Manager for a wide array of projects including coastal and environmental processes studies, hazard and risk assessments for coastal and port infrastructure and engineering design projects. Over the last 5-years David has directed the development and application of Baird's multi-hazard cyclone modelling system that has been applied across an array of hazard, risk and engineering projects in Australia, Asia and the Caribbean. Major engineering projects and roles have included Principal Metocean Engineer and Subject Expert for Port Hedland Outer Harbour, and Project Manager and Principal Engineer of the external team that assisted BHP with the planning, engineering and approval phases of the recently completed Tug and Tug Harbour project. In addition to technical and project delivery roles, David has business and operational management experience in both large and specialised consulting companies, and over 5-years experience as a company director focused on business performance and corporate governance. David has Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Engineering, is a Chartered Professional Engineer, and author/ co-author of over 25 journal and conference proceedings papers.
