Wave Reflection and Absorption
Addressing nonlinear wave-body problems are important in renewable energy, in particular in case of wave
energy converters operating near shore. We consider the nonlinear interaction between waves and bodies using
an efficient spectral/hp element depth-integrated unified nonlinear Boussinesq model. In particular, we discuss the fixed
pontoon and the heaving box problem. In both cases we show a good agreement with published CFD results,
resulting in a significant improvement in precision and computational time w.r.t. the linear and RANS models.
Moreover, we present proof-of-concept results for single and multiple devices equipped with a spring/damper
