A 2DH post-Boussinesq model is tested in the generation and propagation of tsunami and ship-borne waves. The model is wavenumber free and as far as the linear dispersion relation is concerned, the approach is exact. The numerical solution is accomplished by a well documented explicit finite difference scheme. Regarding its capabilities in representing the generation and propagation of tsunami waves, generated by bed deformations, the model was tested against analytical solutions for 1D profiles and 2DH waveforms. Ship waves are simulated by a moving local pressure disturbance. Again he model was tested against physical experiments and analytical solutions.
