The sediment color contains useful information such as geographical features of drainage basins. In this study, to estimate the possibility of the sediment transport between beaches and rivers, statistical analysis was conducted by using sediment color. Study site were 16 beaches and 12 rivers in Toban region, Hyogo prefecture, Japan. It has been faced to serious shore erosion and has taken strong measures by government. To evaluate the effectiveness of countermeasures, it is necessary to grasp the sediment dynamics. The principal component analysis was applied for image of the sediment on the surface ground at each investigation site.
