As one of the most destructive natural hazards, high waves and storm surges of tropical storms threaten the lives of people in many coastal areas. Following the recent north Indian Ocean tropical storms, the present study presents a coupled system of WRF-FVCOM-SWAN to simulate the surges of Gonu (2007) and Ashobaa (2015), as two samples of intense and weak cyclones entering the Arabian Sea and Gulf of Oman, respectively. The presented model can also be utilized to assess the probable impact of climate change in future storm surges and the vulnerability of the neighboring coastal areas.
