FS20 - Is it Stained Glass or Art Glass? From LaFarge and Tiffany to Frank Lloyd Wright

Tuesday, September 25
1:30 PM - 4:30 PM
CE: 3

Some of the greatest stained and art glass ever designed and installed in America can be found in Buffalo’s landmarks. Two historic sites – Trinity Episcopal Church and the Darwin D. Martin House by Frank Lloyd Wright - contain outstanding examples of stained and art glass, designed by the towering figures in the field – LaFarge, Tiffany and Wright. Both sites are undergoing comprehensive conservation projects. This field session will visit both sites, and hear from site staff and preservation professionals about their significance and their project approaches. Participants will spend time in two of the most beautiful places in Buffalo as they learn about the different ways to consider preservation, conservation or replication of the windows and how these decisions impact authenticity.
