Defunct warehouses, factories, and institutions are finding new life as residences throughout Buffalo via adaptive reuse. Tour a sampling of the dozens of loft-living opportunities in downtown Buffalo including the Turner Brother Lofts on the edge of downtown that integrated sustainable features in its reuse including a roof terrace, bike room, bike share stop, and a fantastic new restaurant that makes pierogis and hires employees of need and Shea’s Seneca, a historic theater complex on Buffalo’s East Side which is being adapted to luxury apartments, a banquet facility, a café and bakery, a craft beer store and a Mexican restaurant. The session will conclude with a roundtable discussion of the historic tax credits opportunities and associated design challenges faced by the developers.
