The Sojourner Truth Legacy Project (STLP) began in 2008, and under the leadership of the former Chair Congresswoman Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick, the forum has focused on bringing together women across generations to address issues such as jobs, health care, and the advancement of women in the business and government sectors. The STLP aims to build a dynamic, nationwide, intergenerational network of African American and multicultural women committed to harnessing the power of women around issues important to their lives. The Honorary Chair of the project is Congresswoman Yvette Clarke.
To kick off the 2018 Annual Legislative Conference session, the Sojourner Truth Legacy (STLP), in collaboration with the Congressional Caucus on Black Women and Girls (CBWG), will host a moderated town hall. Time and time again, black women have saved us in every election. The panelists will share their expertise and experience in politics, the mobilization of black women voters and galvanization of black women running for office.
