Black women have long been on the front lines in the fight for justice, equality, and opportunity for Black people in this country and across the globe. From leading slaves to freedom through the Underground Railroad to advocating for the rights of black and brown communities on issues such as voter turnout, income inequality, race/gender/LGBTQ discrimination, health disparities, foreign aid, criminal justice reform, and Black Lives Matter. Although faced with many challenges, Black women continue to be the “joyful warriors” with the resilience, dedication, and persistence necessary to help eradicate disparities across a host of socioeconomic issues. With the upcoming midterm 2018 elections, the power of the Black woman vote will continue to shape outcomes for America’s future. Join us for a dynamic town hall to discuss the strategies, policy solutions, and opportunities for Black America and beyond to ultimately achieve life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all.
