Africa S. Hands is a PhD Candidate in the San Jose State University & Queensland University of Technology Gateway Program. Her research interests include doctoral education, motivation, self-determination theory, and library and information science. Africa is active in ALSC and she will be seated as a board member at ALA Annual 2017.
