Wikipedia is the 5th most accessed website globally, according to Alexa.com, making it an important player in resource discovery. Its volume of content long ago surpassed other encyclopedias, and that content is rendered machine-readable in databases like DBpedia and Wikidata. But how are libraries tapping into these rich resources to improve and extend their bibliographic practices and related services? Join us to hear case studies from organizations that are leveraging information from Wikipedia and Wikidata as well as contributing open knowledge to them. Speakers include representatives from Illinois State University, Montana State University, University of California Davis and OCLC.
