The Opioid Crisis and Addiction is presenting some common issues in Skilled Nursing Facilities throughout the United States. Attendees will be introduced to some of the common issues SNF’s are facing when working with those patients with alcohol and substance use disorders. The Opioid Crisis is leading to more and more people needing skilled nursing and taxing staff and resources. Some of the common issues to be addressed include: a look at the regulatory challenges to addicts receiving services in a SNF setting, a look at reimbursement issues, understanding addiction, how to train staff to work with addicts, and looking for opportunities to collaborate with addiction treatment facilities.
