ACHCA certified administrators have demonstrated the knowledge, skills, and values consistent with the high standards of management necessary to provide quality care to residents, families, and communities. Join the American College of Heath Care Administrators (ACHCA) for a discussion about the pathway to becoming an ACHCA professionally Certified Nursing Home Administrator (CNHA) and/or Certified Assisted Living Administrator (CALA).

Bob assists post-acute care providers with operational improvements, such as survey preparation and compliance, business process improvements, budget analyses, staff retention strategies, documentation and billing procedures, contract reviews, bundled payment strategies, strategic positioning and Medicare/Medicaid certification issues.
He has more than 34 years of health care experience, as well as more than 30 years of long-term care experience as an administrator, field trainer, Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) project manager, speaker and consultant. Prior to joining BKD, Bob was the project manager for the Oklahoma QIO nursing home and home health task teams that successfully ramped up the settings’ seventh and eighth scope contract activities.
Bob is a licensed and certified nursing home administrator (CNHA), Chairman of the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) national Board of Directors and a Fellow in the ACHCA (FACHCA) since 1995.
He serves on the faculty for the Administrators University managed by the Oklahoma State Board of Examiners for Long Term Care Administrators and is an adjunct faculty member for the Saint Joseph’s College of Maine health administration program. Nationally, Bob is a member of the American Health Care Association (AHCA) Quality Improvement Committee, and the Advancing Excellence in America’s Nursing Homes’ Staff Involvement workgroup. Bob previously served as the ACHCA District 5 Director and Oklahoma and Missouri chapter president and as a board member for the Missouri Health Care Association (MHCA) as well as in several MHCA district leadership roles. He is a former member of the Oklahoma Alliance on Aging Board of Directors and has served as an AHCA Silver Quality Award examiner. Bob also served on the national Quality First Committee for LeadingAge and as a member of the AHCA Quality Award Board of Overseers.
Bob has spoken multiple times at AHCA national meetings and in more than 12 states. Bob is a 2016 graduate of the United Way of Central Oklahoma’s Board Serve program and serves as a board member of Upward Transitions in Oklahoma City.
He is a graduate of The University of Kansas, Lawrence, with a bachelor’s degree in allied health administration, and a graduate of The University of Oklahoma, Norman, with a graduate certificate in gerontology and a master’s degree in health and human services administration.

Bill McGinley, CNHA, CAS, CALA, HSE, FACHCA

Bill McGinley has been in the field of long term care administration since 1980. He has been a Nursing Home Administrator for 65 years. He began his career with the Greenery Rehabilitation Group, Inc. a nationally known leader in the field of head-injury rehabilitation and sub-acute care. Most of his career was with SALMON Health and Retirement a Massachusetts family owned company managing a SNF, ALR, Adult Day Health Center, and a child care center. From 2015 to 2017 he was the executive director of New Pond Village, a CCRC in Walpole, MA. He is currently the President / CEO of the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA).

He holds an MBA from Boston University with a concentration in Health Care Management. He is a Fellow of the America College of Health Care Administrators (FACHCA). He is also a Certified Nursing Home Administrator (CNHA), Certified Administrator of Sub-Acute Care (CAS), and a Certified Assisted Living Administrator (CALA). He is certified as an assisted living director (CDAL) by the Senior Living Certification Commission. He recently became only the third person in the country to achieve the Health Services Executive (HSE) credential from the National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB).

In May of 2010, he was named Outstanding Member of the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA). In 2017 ACHCA named him as the recipient of the Distinguished Assisted Living Administrator Award.

He is the past President of the Massachusetts Chapter of the American College of Health Care Administrators. He was the chair of the ACHCA Professional Certification Committee and served as an item writer for the certification exams.

He was a founding trustee of the MetroWest Health Care Foundation and served as chair of the MetroWest Healthcare Foundation Commission on Healthy Aging.
