QA-4 - Cycles of Learning
Tuesday, October 9
2:30 PM - 4:00 PM
CE: NAB: 1.5 | Nurses 1.5
Systems—and the results they produce—are the basis of comprehensive quality improvement efforts and the Quality Award criteria. Organizational systems are incomplete, however, if they fail to incorporate cycles of learning that provide regular evaluation of systems and drive improvement of the systems themselves. Without these cycles, systems quickly become obsolete and dysfunctional, and can actually decrease performance. Cycles of learning are key to achieving higher scoring bands in the Silver and Gold criteria, but many applicants fall short of adequately understanding and describing cycles of learning within their applications.
Learning Objectives:
- Discuss the Baldrige concept of a “cycle of learning”
- Demonstrate the concept of learning in your own internal operations
- Apply the concept of cycles of learning within your Quality Award application
