DA-4 - The Impact of Staffing (PBJ) and Survey Methodology Changes to Five-Star

Tuesday, October 9
9:30 AM - 11:00 AM
CE: NAB: 1.5 | Nurses 1.5

The Five-Star Rating methodology has continuously evolved since its introduction in 2008. Ten years later, we’re seeing some of the biggest changes yet, as Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services made major transformations to two of the three domains of the rating system: staffing and survey. Your ratings are as important than ever, as the breadth of stakeholders has expanded to include managed care; Medicaid value-based purchasing (VBP) programs; hospitals and ACO, for Preferred Provider Networks and referral decisions; HUD and other lenders; investors, owners, and real estate investment trusts (REITs). This session pairs deep analytical insights into Five-Star and the survey/staffing changes with practical advice on how to make operational adjustments and succeed in your marketplace.
