One thing is clear from 16 years of data from post-acute employees: They want management to care about them. What does this mean to post-acute leaders in the 21st century? What does it look like? What behaviors are paramount for a caring leader? This session will explore what it will take to lead caregivers in the 21st century. Based on data from employee surveys and exploring the current state of the workplace, we will identify specific behaviors and provide concrete, practical actions that compassionate leaders will implement.
- Describe the current work environment, distinguishing work from labor
- List three important qualities of a leader in the 21st century
- Identify 5 specific behaviors and/or actions of what a compassionate leader could do to improve the engagement of caregivers
- Describe how the aging demographic is changing and how we must respond to it
