A patient-centered health care delivery model encompasses a biopsychosocial approach to disease, ultimately leading to improving patient outcomes. Can dental education programs create assessments focusing on learner competency that explores all aspects of this model? Participants will learn how to design both a station-based and standardized patient multidisciplinary objective structured clinical examination (m-OSCE). This two-part assessment was implemented as a fourth year graduation requirement. The novel design of the m-OSCE was developed using expertise across disciplines and integrates clinical decision-making, behavioral strategies and a comparative self-assessment. Benefits enhancing curriculum, predictor of clinical success and assessment processes will be described.
