Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, School of Dental Medicine's (RSDM) will present recent research findings investigating traditional predictors of academic success and academic load in college, and how these criteria relate to performance in the first year of dental school. Participants in this session will discuss how this type of data can be used to develop or enhance student support services and teaching methodologies. During this session, participants will identify methods they can implement in their schools to improve the academic experience for all students and reduce the need for academic remediation and other academic difficulties.
- Identify incoming students at highest risk of academic difficulty.
- Develop interventions to assist high risk students academically early in their academic careers.
- Enhance student services to better support students with disadvantaged education backgrounds.
