This workshop focuses on an underutilized learning strategy developed in 1965 known as "mind mapping." Mind maps are multi-sensory tools that organize ideas, develop visual creative processes and facilitate key concept retention. Participants will play the role of teacher and then student. In the role of teacher, the participant will compare and contrast a conventional lecture verses a mind map Prezi presentation in the dental education setting. In the role of student, the participant will practice using mind map style note taking. Discussion will focus on strategizing future uses of mind maps.
