Specific topics include start up, marketing, and operation of a mobile surgery practice with a focus on the practical details. The seminar includes formal lectures on these topics followed by a question and answer session of a panel of mobile surgeons.

Dr. Charisse Davidson is a Board Certified Small Animal Surgeon. She grew up in California and earned her veterinary degree from the University of California at Davis in 1996 and a Master’s Degree in 1998. She worked in San Diego as a General Practitioner in a mixed small animal and exotic practice for 4 year before pursuing specialty certification in small animal surgery. In 2001, Dr. Davidson completed a Surgical Internship at the Animal Specialty and Emergency Center in Los Angeles and thereafter her residency program at VetSurg, Inc. in 2004. During her residency, Dr. Davidson had the opportunity to work under some of the most accomplished surgeons in the United States in the fields of Orthopedics, Surgical Oncology and Surgical Neurology. While living in California, Dr. Davidson founded two specialty clinics in the Los Angeles area: CM Surgical Group, a boutique small animal surgical specialty hospital and Veterinary Specialists of the Valley, a state-of-the-art multiple specialty hospital with CT and MRI on site. Dr. Davidson sold her interest in both hospitals to move to a smaller town in Texas with her family as she and her husband wanted to raise their children in a more family oriented community. Dr. Davidson's professional interests include orthopedics and fracture repair, surgical oncology, neurosurgery and pain management. She has been TPLO certified since 2000 and is also certified in Penn HIP evaluation. She has authored publications in both orthopedics and pain management as well as authored textbook chapters in small animal orthopedics and avian medicine. When not working, Dr. Davidson spends her time with her husband, four children, and their chocolate lab, Liberty. They enjoy camping, hiking, rock climbing, horseback riding and spending time outdoors.

Justin Uhl, DVM, MS, DACVS-SA

Justin Uhl, DVM, MS, DACVS-SA graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Davis in 2002. He went on to complete a Master’s Degree in comparative pathology with emphasis in bone biomechanics in 2008 and completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree in 2010.
After graduating from veterinary school, Dr. Uhl pursued a rotating internship followed by a surgery residency at the University of Minnesota. During his residency he served for 2 years as chief resident and sat on the medical review board at the hospital. He finished his residency in July of 2014 and worked in private practice in Sacramento before starting Summit Veterinary Surgery Service in May of 2018. Dr. Uhl is trained in orthopedic, neurologic, soft tissue, and minimally invasive procedures.
Dr. Uhl has multiple publications in bone plate research, bladder stone trends, temporal lobe epilepsy, and osteosarcoma chemotherapy. He has also done research in the areas of interlocking nails and cranial cruciate ligament disease. He has spoken at many continuing education events around the world and is a reviewer for the Veterinary Surgery journal and the Journal of the American Animal Hospital Association. He sits on the ACVS continuing education committee. He is a member of the Veterinary Orthopedic Society and Veterinary Society of Surgical Oncology.
When not in the hospital Dr. Uhl enjoys spending time with his wife Tracy and daughters Haley and Madison. He also enjoys spending time training for and competing in triathlons.

Rebecca A. Tudor, DVM, DACVS

Dr. Rebecca Tudor graduated from the North Carolina State, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995. She completed an internship at the University of Georgia, and then returned to NCSU for her large animal surgery residency. She became of Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2000. After spending a year in small animal private practice, Dr. Tudor returned to NCSU as a small animal surgical fellow. Dr. Tudor is one of four veterinary surgeons in the world who is double boarded in both small and large animal surgery.

Dr. Tudor established founded Tarheel Veterinary Surgical Specialists in 2002 with the purpose of delivering the surgical excellence and personal, compassionate service she would want for her own pets.
