Open to all. Pre-registration encouraged. Lunch is included with voucher.

Veterinary Specialist Outreach and Awareness Project (VetSOAP) embarked upon a 3-phase research project to demonstrate that through collaborative care:
• patients will live longer,
• patients will receive positive healthy outcomes/improved quality of life,
• the primary care veterinary practice will receive a positive revenue benefit, and
• the relationship between primary care and specialty veterinarians will be enriched.

Julie D. Smith, DVM, DACVS, CCRT, MBA, and Judith Gass, MBA, Executive Director of VetSOAP, will present a quantitative study of primary care veterinarian referral behaviors and drivers and a data collection strategy to demonstrate the financial benefit of referral/collaborative care to primary care veterinarian practices. VetSOAP’s aim is that this data would be used to strengthen the primary care and specialty veterinarian relationships to improve overall patient care.
