Jennifer Solomon serves as a Public Health Advisor for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (SAMHSA/CSAP). As the federal prevention project monitor for SAMHSA’s State Technical Assistance contract, she oversees delivery of technical assistance services and state site visits related to the Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant and the Synar program, which supports states in reducing youth access to tobacco through retail sources. Ms. Solomon also administers CSAP’s Prevention Fellowship Workforce Development Program, which is a structured training program for new professionals. She is CSAP’s program lead for developing substance abuse prevention resources for older adults, such as the Get Connected Toolkit and a webinar series on behavioral health and older adults. Ms. Solomon has a Master’s Degree in Applied Sociology, with an emphasis on aging, from the University of Maryland and a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology.
