Jon Sanford, M. Arch, is the Director of the Center for Assistive Technology and Environmental Access and a Professor of Industrial Design at Georgia Tech. Mr. Sanford is one of the few architecturally-trained researchers engaged in research on the impact of the environment on age-related function and decline. He is internationally-recognized for his expertise in universal design for aging in place and is the PI for the Rehabiliation Engineering Research Center on Technologies for Successful Aging with Disability, a 5-year grant from the DHHS Administration for Community Living. He has over 300 presentations and publications and is the author of the text: Design for the Ages: Universal Design as a Rehabilitation Strategy.
