Lars Arendt-Nielsen (LAN) is founder and director of the international Center for Sensory-Motor Interaction, the world’s largest translational pain research center); and co-founder and head of R&D, C4Pain, a research based CRO focusing exclusively on phase Ib, II and III trials in pain and inflammation. C4Pain offers companies comprehensive services and the most advanced facilities in the area of pain related trials and helps companies translating basic pre-clinical findings into clinical trials optimizing the chances for detecting a signal based on a selection of the most appropriate pain models. Dr. Arendt-Nielsen has delivered over 230 keynote lectures at international meetings and seminars and published more than 750 papers on experimental and clinical pain research in international peer reviewed journals. He has been a council member of the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP), head of the IASP 2010 Global Year Against pain (focus on musculoskeletal pain), head of the IASP grant committee, and founder of the IASP Special Interest Group on Musculoskeletal Pain.
