Dr. John O'Donnell is professor and chair of the University of Pittsburgh Department of Nurse Anesthesia and has been Director of the Pitt Nurse Anesthesia Program since 1994. Dr. O’Donnell is also the associate director at the world-renowned Winter Institute for Simulation Education (WISER), co-chairs the WISER Research Committee, and as part of his international work co-authored the iSIM (Improving Simulation Instructional Methods) faculty development course that has been offered in more than 20 nations and has been translated into multiple languages. Dr. O’Donnell has published and presented extensively in the areas of anesthesia education and practice and in the area of simulation educational methodology and recently co-founded a new start-up company, LUMIS Corp. which has developed a new augmented reality simulation educational system using the inSight platform.
