The AANA Foundation’s State-of-the-Science Oral Poster Session features sixteen CRNAs and/or SRNAs presenting their research findings classroom-presentation style. Each researcher is given 15 minutes in which to present their research and answer questions. Presentations will be focused in two areas – research and evidence based projects.

Kelsey Nelsen is a senior student registered nurse anesthetist in the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences (MSHS) Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice Program (DNAP) and she will be graduating in January 2019. Kelsey began working on her Doctorate Capstone project in October 2015 and is excited to share it with you today. She has spent numerous hours researching this topic, completing manual chart reviews, and administering anesthesia to this specific patient population. The manuscript for her Capstone project is published in the Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology journal. Kelsey also serves as the MSHS DNAP Class of 2019 class representative.
