There is a technological gap in understanding how Virtual Reality/gaming can be used to educate, assess, and maintain skills and knowledge. Virtual Reality/gaming is an emerging technology that can reach the masses with improved learning and retention. This presentation will help the learner to understand how the use of Virtual Reality/gaming simulation can improve education and practice.

Dr. Kallio is the Clinical Director for the High Risk Pre-Anesthesia Clinic at the Zablocki VAMC in Milwaukee. He also is the Associate program Director for the School of Nurse Anesthesia at Rosalind Franklin University in North Chicago. He has 25 years’ experience in clinical Anesthesia with a focus on preoperative care. He is published in this area. He has been pivital in creating and implementing the use of gaming and virtual simulation in the interprofessional classroom.
