Lively and hopeful panel discussion on alternative careers for CRNAs unable to continue clinical anesthesia due to a disorder or other challenge. A positive approach and resources to support a new career path can help mitigate the fear of loss of income and identity.

Mr. Stem is a former CRNA with over 23 years of recovery. He is currently the chair of the Peer Assistance Committee and has been a peer assistance advisor since 2005 for the Ohio State Association of Nurse Anesthetists. Jack has consulted with a nursing license defense attorney since 2008, and is currently a chemical dependency counselor and lead counselor of the Suboxone Intensive Outpatient program at Northland Interventions in Milford, Ohio.

Greg has been a direct care provider in the health care field for more than 20 years with experience in emergency management, intensive care, surgical services, and anesthesia. He served as a medic in the US Army 82nd Airborne Division. He is currently a member of the International Nurses Society on Addictions. Greg has extensive experience in the field of addiction, treatment, management, advocacy, and recovery of the highly-accountable recovering professional.

Deacon Milne has experience in a wide range of anesthesia settings and leadership positions in the US Military and civilian healthcare. He is licensed to practice law in several states and federal courts. Deacon Milne graduated from the Diaconate School of Theology in the Catholic Diocese of Columbus, OH, has been ordained for 10 years, and is a member of two opioid tasks forces in Ohio (OSANA and the 23-county Diocese of Columbus).

Aaron Reed is a former Nurse Anesthetist who founded a company dedicated to advocating for CRNA's disabled due to substance use disorder and addiction. Through partnerships within the medical community, Aaron has grown his company to service multiple treatment facilities and disabled clients throughout the United States. He built his business with the goal of providing recovering CRNA's with alternatives to returning to practice where addiction issues may be exacerbated.
