Anesthesia "Pioneers" Meeting (1 Class A CE)

Sunday, September 23
10:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Location: Room 313, Hynes

Pioneers in anesthesia have very little contact with the student of our profession of nurse anesthesia. There is much to be learned by mixing these generations broadly separated by their life spread. The last 2 years of Pioneer Meeting held in informal discussions about topics of interest were popular with both students and the retirees of our profession. The Foundation wishes to continue this dialog with new topics of interest tailored to our Boston meeting.

Supported by the AANA Foundation

Learning Objectives:

Wilma K. Gillis, CRNA, APNP

Coordinator of Clinical Anesthetists Department of Anesthesiology
University of Wisconsin
Madison, WI

Wilma has been involved in supporting our profession in various elected and volunteer roles at both state and national levels for more than 3 decades. She first attended a Pioneers meeting as a support to her Wisconsin friend and mentor--Patrick Downey, retired CRNA and past AANA President. She has just finished 6 years of AANA Foundation's Board of Trustees service and made a commitment to continue as this year’s coordinator of the State Advocate program and to again run the popular Pioneers Meeting generously sponsored by AANA Foundation, here in Boston. Being a mentor to the youth of our profession through engaging the youth with our Pioneers is an exciting reality in this session!.
