Case Study: The Use of Museum Education Activities to Preserve Cultural Heritage

In 2013, more than 1,000 objects were looted from the Malawi National Museum in Minya, Egypt. This session will explore a community engagement project that helped connect stakeholders with the museum after it reopened in 2016.

Learning Objectives:

• Learn why community engagement is one of the best tools to help stakeholders relate to their heritage and history.
• Learn how understanding stakeholders and developing an effective interpretive program can lead local people to invest in cultural heritage.
