The economic downturn of 2008 delayed the Chandler Museum’s new facility, which led staff to rethink its priorities, operations, scale, and even location. The resulting project blends a historic structure with a 21st-century building. This tour, led by senior museum staff and members of the design team, will explore both the new construction and the renovation of a historic building.
Accessibility Note: As this is a hard hat tour, closed toe shoes are required. Attendees should be able to traverse uneven ground, and grades are not ADA compliant. Safety helmets and vests will be provided, and attendees will be required to wear them while at the construction site. The construction company will have a waiver of liability for attendees to sign, prior to entering the construction site. Service animals are allowed on site. Assistive visual and/or hearing devices will not be available.
