Director of Museum Affairs
Preservation Society of Newport County
With over 25 years of experience in Canadian and American art and historic house museums, Lise was appointed Director of Museum Affairs at The Preservation Society of Newport County in July 2017. She provides vision and leadership for curatorial, exhibitions, conservation, collections, research, interpretation, and educational initiatives for the Preservation Society’s nine historic properties, seven of them National Historic Landmarks. From 2011-2017, Lise served as the Executive Director of The Richard H. Driehaus Museum, a decorative arts museum housed in a fully restored Gilded Age mansion in Chicago, IL.
While at the Driehaus Museum, Lise led the development and implementation of an ambitious exhibition program which quickly garnered national media attention for the young museum, rapidly grew attendance and presented new scholarship through companion publications. Lise was also responsible for launching the Driehaus Museum's successful traveling exhibition program which currently has three exhibitions on national tours. Plans are underway to further expand the Preservation Society's exhibition program by leveraging their extensive collections of fine and decorative arts and their new dedicated, state-of-the-art exhibition space, the Galleries at Rosecliff.
