Ann Hernandez manages professional development initiatives for the Association of Science-Technology Centers (ASTC), a global organization that provides collective voice, professional support, and programming opportunities to science centers, museums, and similar institutions. The projects in her domain focus on equity, diversity, and inclusion, including the ASTC Diversity and Leadership Development Fellows Program and the Cultural Competence Learning Institute. Before starting at ASTC, Ann served as the Director of Education at Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum in Michigan. During that time, she recieved the ASTC Diversity Fellows award twice and served as a mentor and reviewer of the program. Recently, Ann led the ASTC staff through a year-long cultural competency initiative.
