Suzette A. Sherman, President of Sherman Consulting Group LLC, provides membership, marketing, research, fundraising, guest experience, and business development consulting services for museums, public gardens, zoos, historic sites, and other cultural attractions. She helps organizations establish business models that cultivate loyalty among visitors, members, donors, and stakeholders to generate sustainable revenue streams. Suzette uses a data-driven, research-based approach for her clients to assess membership structures and works to position the right benefits in the right levels at optimal price points to maximize long-term success.
Prior to starting her consulting business, Suzette held several leadership roles for museums including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, National Museum of Women in the Arts, and Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. While at the Philadelphia Museum of Art (2000-2010), she led a team of over 50 staff responsible for membership, guest services and ticketing, market research, and group sales. Under her leadership, membership increased by over 60% to more than 65,000 member households, contributing $7 million in annual revenue. She is a regular presenter at museum and membership conferences and teaches Fundamentals of Museum Fundraising for Johns Hopkins University's Museum Studies graduate-level program.
