Dr. Saenz received his medical degree in 1974, from the University of Chile. He completed a Digestive Diseases Fellowship at Escuela de Patologia Digestiva, University Autonoma of Barcelona in 1978, and postgraduate Training at the Nat. Cancer Center Tokyo-Ginza in 1993 and at Mount Sinai NY in 1995. He is a Past President of the Chilean Association of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and Past President of the Chilean Society of Gastroenterology (as well as a member of the Board for 24 years). Dr. Saenz is a Master of Gastroenterology of the Interamerican Society of Gastroenterology, 2010. He serves on the International Editorial Committee, GIE, Endoscopy, Acta Gastroenterologica Latino Americana, and is on the WEO and WGO Task Forces. He is Professor of Medicine at Universidad Del Desarrollo, Chair of the Gastroenterology Department at Clinica Alemana Santiago, and is a Consultor Internal Medicine/ Gastroenterology at Clinica Alemana Santiago. Dr. Saenz is an IDCA Board of Trustees Member.
