Dr. Uday Goshal attended Medical School and received his MBBS at Burdwan Medical College in 1986 and received 8 gold medals and university first position in all three of his professional examinations.Dr. Goshal is a Professor in the Department of Gastroenterology at the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow, India and an Adjunct Professor at the Centre for Biomedical Research. He is a Founder Member of the Indian Motility and Functional Diseases Association and the past Secretary General of the Asian Neurogastroenterology & Motility Association. Dr. Goshal serves as a member of the Rome Foundation and is involved in several committees of the Rome Foundation such as the international liaison committee, post-infectious FGID committee, Rome Asian working team, Executive Committee Member of Rome Global Epidemiological Study, etc. He is involved in medical education through SPREAD and has editorial experience. Dr. Goshal was an Associate Editor of the Indian J Gastroenterol (Luminal Gastroenterology), J Neurogastroenterology Motility, a member of the Advisory Board of Nature Review Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and of the Editorial Board of the World J Gastroenterol, J Gastroenterol Hepatol. Dr. Goshal has acquired 34 awards, has served as a visiting clinician at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona, and as a visiting consultant at Hamad Medical Corporation in Doha, Qatar. He is a Fellow of the World Health Organization at Price of Sonkhla University in Hat Yai, Thailand for Biostatistics and Epidemiology training, and has published more than 251 research papers.
