Damon Bizos graduated in Medicine at the University of the Witwatersrand in 1983. He qualified as a specialist surgeon in 1992. He holds a subspeciality in Surgical Gastroenterology with the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa. He currently is Adjunct Professor and Head of Surgical Gastroenterology at the University of the Witwatersrand. He runs the Surgical GIT unit at the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hhospital and is Clinical Head of SUrgery at the WIts Donald Grdon Medical Center. He has been President of the South African Society of Endoscopic Surgeons(SASES) and currently is on the Board of the South African Gastroenterology Society (SASES) as well as the College of Surgeons of South Africa. He has a passion for Skills training and is currently the Head of the WGO Training the Trainers Program
