Target Audience: Self-Advocates|Family Members
Unfortunately, the person scheduled to present this session was impacted by the fires in Northern California and had to cancel last minute. We plan on distributing additional information on this topic after the event.
The panel is designed to discuss the complications of living as a person identified both as LGBTQ and with I/DD or physical disability. This population is often dually marginalized and the importance of defining self and ones sexuality is often overlooked by their intellectual/physical disability. Panelists will share their journeys, experiences and offer honest insight into how to discuss this sometimes sensitive issue with families, support coaches and service providers who aim to help all people with disabilities. The goal is to bring this conversation into open dialog to address a historically secretive issue.
