Electronic Record Keeping: Reduce Costs, Increase Efficiencies and Improve Effectiveness

Friday, November 3
9:30 AM - 10:30 AM
Location: Marina 6

Target Audience: Executive & Board

The Arc of Montgomery County, MD and The Arc of Prince George's County, MD are large $20 million plus organizations providing a substantial array of services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. With each employing over 500 staff members, engaging in vigorous fundraising, effective legislative and other major activities for over 60 years, our chapter's records and record keeping processes are sizable, complex, and demanding. As Executive Directors that have been with The Arc for just under two years, independent of each other, we simultaneously determined to take on the titanic task of overhauling our record keeping system. Our story has several interesting twists and turns including the fact that our counties are geographically next to each other and we both engaged the same consulting firm. We'll describe our motivation for collaborating with each other to implement an innovative record-keeping system.
