Global Citizenship: Learning Outcomes in a Worldwide Curriculum

As universities embrace global learning outcomes for diverse student bodies, international educators must work across academic and administrative units in order to succeed. This session presents an integrated model for a globalized liberal arts undergraduate curriculum program (GCP) adapted by Webster University’s global campus network.

Kim McGrath is Director of the Webster International Network of Schools (WINS) program, where she spearheads initiatives for WINS students and organizations worldwide. Kim has taught and developed programs in the US and abroad, regularly presents on topics of international education and women’s leadership; and, was a Global Leadership Academy fellow in 2013-2014. She holds degrees in journalism and international relations from Truman State and Webster University, where she also serves as adjunct faculty and is enrolled in the Education Doctorate program in Transformative Education.

Amber Cruxton

Interim Director, Education Abroad
Kent State University

Amber Cruxton is the Interim Director of Education Abroad at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. Amber received her Bachelor of Science in International Business from Ashland University and her Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from Kent State University. Within her time at Kent State, she has worked to create and implement various specialized programs at the Kent State University flagship Center in Florence, Italy. These programs were developed in an effort to diversify the program offerings and allow underrepresented student populations study abroad while maintaining their academic schedules. Examples of these programs include: The Florence Summer Institute, Florence Health Institute, Freshman in Florence, Upward Bound in Florence and many other short term faculty led programs.

Ronald Daniel

Ronald W. Daniel serves as Director of Webster University’s London campus. and was previously Academic Director at Webster's Geneva campus. Before that he served as Associate Provost for Undergraduate Education at Virginia Tech, where he worked to develop and renew the general education program. At Webster, he served on the task force responsible for creating the Global Citizenship Program, Webster University’s transformation of its general education program. He is a past presenter at numerous conferences of the American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U), the Association of General and Liberal Studies (AGLS), the Reinvention Center, and other national organizations devoted to high quality undergraduate experiences and liberal education. A professor emeritus in architecture, he received his Bachelor’s in architecture at Virginia Tech and Master’s of architecture at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design.

Ediz Kaykayoglu

Executive Director, Office of International Studies and Programs
Central Washington University International Studies and Programs

Ediz Kaykayoglu is currently the Executive Director of Office of International Studies and Programs at Central Washington University. Ediz has received a B.S. degree in Computer Engineering from University of Bahcesehir in Istanbul, Turkey and a M.T. degree in Technology from Kent State University. Ediz has been working in the International Education field for the last 11 years. He teaches a graduate level course title as “Design and Delivery of Study Abroad While Studying Abroad”. Ediz has presented at local, regional and national conferences at NAFSA and Diversity Abroad Conferences. Ediz has been a study abroad student in the United Kingdom and United States during his high school and graduate years.
