Join representatives from U.S. institutions that received the 2016 and 2017 Senator Paul Simon Awards for Campus Internationalization in facilitated roundtable discussions. Presenters share their successful internationalization strategies, as evidenced in practice, structures, philosophies, and policies.

Adria L. Baker, Associate Vice Provost for International Education, Offices of International Students & Scholars and Brasil@Rice at Rice University, is also a U.S. Fulbright Scholar Ambassador. She participated in the 2013 Fulbright Korean International Education Administrators program. She has held national and regional leadership positions in international education including: 1) Texas State Whip 2) Mayor's Task Force for International Visitors 3) Texas Governor's Infrastructure Council 4) led Committee for a Texas International Education Policy 5) chaired NAFSA Region III 6) Regional Affairs Committee 7) on Local Arrangments Team (LAT) for NAFSA's conference in Houston 8) co-chaired the Pre-registration Committee 9) Fulbright selection committee. Baker has presented many sessions at the national, regional, and local level, and has written several articles on international education. Her passion is helping new international educators get involved in the field, as well as encouraging their involvement in advocacy for international education echange. She won the inaugural service awards: 1) KCISS for IE Excellence 2) Advocate of the Year, and 3) Region III Advocacy Day travel grant namesake. She led Rice in the nomination for the Simon Campus Internationalization Award 2015, where they won for their Brazilian initiatives.
