Presenters focus on different models for undergraduate dual degree programs (3+1, 2+2, and others) and discuss the benefits and challenges of managing undergraduate dual degrees for outgoing and incoming students. Gain tips on successful program implementation and how to troubleshoot issues with your administration.

Jennifer Hilton Montero

Director, Global Initiatives
Florida International University College of Business

Jennifer Hilton Montero is the Director of the Office of Global Initiatives for the College of Business at Florida International University located in Miami, Florida, United States of America. Jennifer specializes in building international relationships and serves as the international liaison for the College of Business, managing international agreements and collaborations as well as serving incoming international students and providing local students with international study opportunities. She received her Bachelors of Arts in International Studies and Spanish with honors in 2004 from Austin College in Sherman, Texas. She completed her Masters of Arts in Intercultural Relations with specializations in International Education and Intercultural Training and Consulting in 2006 from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Jennifer has worked for companies such as Ernst and Young Chile, as well as for AACSB International in international coordination roles. Jennifer lived and worked in Chile for three years, has travelled extensively in South America, and is fluent in Spanish and English. Jennifer is passionate about the role of cross-cultural understanding in fostering a united world community.

Gabriela M. Gillespie

Senior Manager, Office of Global Initiatives
Florida International University

Gabriela Gillespie is the Senior Manager for the Office of Global Initiatives at the College of Business. She is principally in charge of our international contractual agreements and helping with our international network management. Gabriela previously worked with FIU’s School of Hospitality and Tourism Management as an Academic Advisor, and was previously an International Student Advisor at the University of South Carolina. Gabriela holds bachelors’ in degree in Business Administration and Spanish from the University of Florida, a Master’s in Higher Education from the University South Carolina and is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Education here at FIU.

Sean O'Connell

Director, International Business
University of Southern California Marshall School of Business

Sean O'Connell has been working in international Education at the university level for over 24 years, having worked at Loyola University of Chicago, as well as the University of Southern California. Sean is currently the Director of the International Business Program as well as the Director of the World Bachelor of Business program at the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business, and has been a member of the USC Marshall Strategic Planning Committee, as well as the USC Global Initiatives Ad Hoc Committee. Sean has preseneted at CIEE and NAFSA Annual Conferences, as well as been a member of round-table discussions at NAFSA, GIC and EAIE.
