Assistant Director, Research & Special Projects

Amy Pojar is the Assistant Director, Research & Special Projects at the UCLA Dashew Center for International Students and Scholars (DCISS). In this role, she manages a diverse portfolio of projects including departmental research and assessment; intercultural and inclusion training designed for students, staff, and faculty; intra/inter-group dialogue; an international service-learning program; and other projects as needed. Amy represents DCISS on with partners and external committees related to institutional research, international student mental health, campus climate, etc. She has presented at various local, regional, and national conferences. Amy is currently a Ph.D. candidate specializing in international and comparative education.
Iris (Mengya) Cao is a Special Projects Assistant at the UCLA Dashew Center for International Students and Scholars (DCISS). In her role at DCISS, Iris creates, organizes, and delivers a variety of cultural and need-based workshops that aim to support international student experiences and development at UCLA. She also co-facilitated a cultural training to help staff and faculty members understand cultural concepts and articulate strategies to engage the international community on campus. Born and raised in China, Iris pursued her postsecondary education as an international student. She graduated from The Ohio State University, with a B.S.B.A. in Marketing and Logistics Management and a minor in Organizational Communication. Iris is currently completing her M.Ed. in Student Affairs at UCLA.
