Taking Your Hybrid Orientation Program to the Next Level

Presenters will illustrate ways to improve an existing hybrid international orientation program by developing relationships with campus stakeholders. Discuss the pros and cons of hybrid programs and how online and on-campus components can complement each other. International student and scholar advisers who have existing hybrid orientation programs should attend.

Krittika Onsanit

Director, International Student & Scholar Services
University of Richmond

Krittika Onsanit has been advising international students and scholars at the University of Richmond since 2000. She was chair of the Taking Your Hybrid Orientation Program to the Next Level at the NAFSA 2017 Annual Conference and has presented at regional NAFSA and NSEE conferences. She has been lead trainer for F-1 for Intermediates, F-1 for Beginners and International Student Advising workshops. She holds an MA in international education from New York University and a BA in English from Wesleyan University. Her work in the field began as an ESL teacher in Bangkok, Thailand through WorldTeach. She speaks Thai.

Nicola Kille

The College of Wooster

Nicola Kille joined the staff at the College of Wooster in 2001 as the Coordinator of the Ambassadors Program - a community outreach program that encourages intercultural exchange throughout the Wooster community. Since that time, she has held several positions at the College, including Assistant Director, Global Engagement and Associate Director, Off Campus Study. She is currently the Associate Director of both International Student Affairs and the Center for Diversity and Inclusion. Additionally, she serves as the Jewish Life Coordinator.
She is originally from London, England, but has lived in the United States for many years. Nicola received her BA (History) from the University of Wales at Aberystwyth, and her MA (Intercultural Relations) from the University of the Pacific (Stockton, CA) and the Intercultural Communication Institute (Portland, OR). During her undergraduate degree, she spent a year as an international student in the United States.

Noelle Willecke

Columbia University International Students & Scholars Office

Noelle Willecke is a Senior International Student and Scholar Advisor at Columbia University. She works in an office that serves over 10,000 F-1 and J-1 current students and 3,000 students on OPT/STEM. She has been working in the field of international education for 8 years. Previously she worked as an International Student Advisor for The New School in New York City and as an ESL Teacher in Barcelona, Spain. She holds an M.A. in International Training and Education from American University in Washington, DC.
