Focus on the most common J categories in higher education and will not include basic procedural training, the trainee category, or foreign medical graduates. Participants should have working knowledge and understanding of immigration and J-1 visa regulations and procedures.

Julie Wilbers is the Director of International Services at UT Health San Antonio. Julie has worked in the field of international education for over 12 years. She has extensive experience advising international student and scholars on non-immigrant visa categories, as well as filing employment-based permanent residency petitions. As an active member of the NAFSA Trainer Corps, Julie has presented workshops on F-1, J-1, and H-1B visa categories. She serves as the Past Chair of the NAFSA Healthcare Institutions Interest Group (HIIG). Recently, she has presented on “Coloring within the Lines: Green Cards for the Fringe,” "Using a Portfolio Staffing Model in International Education: Lessons Learned," and "Exploring immigration Options for Students in Non-Traditional and Intermittent Academic Programs." Her professional experience includes teaching at the university level and preparing credential evaluations for foreign nationals. Her honors include selection as a Fulbright Scholar in Germany from 2004 to 2005 and serving as the Vice President of the Colorado Chapter of the Fulbright Association. Julie holds an M.A. in Global and Sociocultural Studies from Florida International University and a B.A. in German and International Affairs from Xavier University.

Marc K. Invergo has worked at the University of Kentucky since 2004, and is currently the J-1 Scholar Advisor. As Scholar Advisor, he has worked extensively with issues related to Research Scholars, Short Term Scholars, Professors, Specialists and Student Interns. Previously he had worked with the Summer Work Travel program and J-1 Students. He's attended national and regional conferences and presented at three of them; two as part of a panel related to J Scholar issues, and the other as the main presenter in the discussion of the ease of using the J Specialist category. He finds the ever changing world of immigration regulations both challenging and rewarding. He has also worked with a NAFSA group to review the initial online NAFSA manual. He is currently part of the Trainer Corps program. Marc has a Bachelor's in Business from Loyola University in Chicago and a Master's from Northeastern in Chicago.

Mihaela Britt holds a bachelor's degree in International Business from the Academy of Economic Studies (Bucharest, Romania), a master's degree in business administration (MBA) from MU and a juris doctor (JD) from MU. Miha has been in the field of the International Education for over 14 years, first as the SEVIS Coordinator and as the Assistant Director and Scholar Coordinator for University of Missouri, Columbia. Miha is currently an immigration attorney in Columbia, Missouri and she provides immigration advice to universities, colleges and business on a wide range of business immigration issues.
