Director
Northern Illinois University International Student & Faculty Office

Sim Chin is the Director of the International Student and Faculty Office at Northern Illinois University. She is also responsible for international undergraduate recruiting and admissions. Her higher education experiences span across Malaysia, Thailand, and the United States. She received her Ed.D in adult and higher education from Northern Illinois University. Her research was focused on the intersection of transformative adult education, religion, and global citizenship. She previously taught classes on feminist theory and global citizenship. She was one of the 4-member panel to present on the Baha'i Institute of Higher Education at the 2013 Annual NAFSA Conference in St. Louis, Missouri.

Dana S. Brolley

Director International Recruitment
Seattle University

Dana is the Director of International Recruitment at Seattle University and previously the Assistant Director of the Center for International Education at the University of Washington Bothell. She has served as NAFSA Region Chair and IEM Knowledge Ccommunity Rep and has trained and presented at numerous regional and national conferences. With over 15 years as instructor, advisor, recruiter, and administrator in international education she brings a wide range of experience to the field. She has received the Presidential Silver award for her volunteer work with USAID in Moldova and Zimbabwe, taught English in Hungary, and has worked and lived in several countries.

Wayan Mastriyana

Assistant Director, Graduate and International Admissions

Wayan “Mas” Mastriyana is currently the Assistant Director of Graduate and International Admissions for the Office of Admissions at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). Mas has been with VCU for almost thirteen years and prior coming to VCU, he was an International Admissions Specialist at Marshall University for four years. He has conducted two workshops for NAFSA-- one for Regional VIII, and the other for the NAFSA Annual Conference on Foreign Educational Credential Evaluation.In addition to his capacity as an Assistant Director overseeing the International Admissions, he also served a Designated School Office. He and Blair Brown, VCU’s former Director of Graduate and International Admissions, presented “From Print to Paperless: The Transition of International Admissions to Imaging”, at NAFSA Region VIII. Mas is a member of NAFSA Trainer Corp, an alumn of NAFSA Academy as well as the NAFSA Manager Development Program.

Colleen Flynn Thapalia joined Clarkson University in 2017, as Director of International Graduate Recruitment & Admission. Earlier, she served for 14 years in various roles at The College of Saint Rose, which included international student services, ESL, and study abroad. She has a professional background in intercultural communication and management in higher education and international organizations, including service as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Burundi and United Nations Volunteer in Nepal.
