Jennifer Skiba

As Program Officer at the Institute of International Education, Jennifer advises Fulbright Foreign Visiting Research Students. Prior to joining IIE, Jennifer served as international programs coordinator at George Washington University, where she managed the Carlos Slim Scholars Program for Mexican scholars. After receiving a B.A. in journalism and mass communication from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Jennifer worked in advertising for the Food Network. In 2009, she utilized her background in strategic communication to teach English in South Korea as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant. She earned a master's in international relations from Ewha Womans University and spent a semester “studying abroad” at George Washington University's Elliott School.

Sarah Bird

Sarah Bird joined IIE in June 2015 as a Program Officer on the Fulbright Foreign Student Program. Prior to joining IIE, she was an academic coordinator with the CHANCE Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago, supporting first-generation students to navigate their university education. Sarah has over five years’ experience in non-profit management with a college readiness organization on Chicago’s northwest side. Sarah spent two years living in Ghana, where she assisted in monitoring a UNFPA apprenticeship program and taught in a public high school. She has a B.A. in Black Studies from Pomona College and a M.Ed. in Policy Studies from UIC.
